The Duxbury Council on Aging could not accomplish its work without the assistance of its many dedicated volunteers. Their knowledge, compassion and commitment have enabled us to expand services at the Duxbury Senior Center and in the community. They have enabled us to implement innovative programs which have been recognized locally and nationally such as assisting in our Respite Intermissions Program for clients with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease, or by serving on our Friends’ board or the Council on Aging Board or with our Lifelong Learning steering committee. Many of our volunteers provide services, such as calling Bingo games or coordinating weekly Bridge, with would be difficult to provide otherwise. Others contribute time as they are able.
The knowledge that is shared, the time that is spent, the care that is given has made the Duxbury Senior Center a focal point in the community.
